Our Week at Burton Pidsea Primary School

Every Friday, we share a weekly update with our families through ClassDojo, celebrating the wonderful things happening across our school.

From exciting learning opportunities and classroom achievements to sporting activities, special events and the fantastic contributions of our pupils, these messages offer a little glimpse into life at Burton Pidsea Primary School.

We are proud of our children and everything they achieve, both in and out of the classroom. Our Friday updates are a lovely way to celebrate their successes, share important news and keep our school community connected.

Take a look below to see what we have been getting up to each week!

Friday 9th October

Another Fantastic Week.

We have had another great week, the children have been working hard across all classes, and it has been lovely to see so much fantastic learning taking place. We are very proud of their continued efforts and enthusiasm.

Playground Leaders
Our Playground Leaders have been doing a brilliant job at lunchtimes, encouraging children to take part in a variety of games and activities. They have been busy setting up equipment, helping others to join in and making sure everything is tidied away afterwards. It is wonderful to see them showing such responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills. Well done!

School Council
A big thank you and well done to our School Council, led by Miss Fleming, who have been working hard to make our school an even better place. They have already organised a fun competition, with details sent out to families, and have been busy discussing lots of exciting ideas to improve our school and organise events and activities that all children can enjoy and access. It is fantastic to see our pupils having a voice, taking responsibility and making a positive difference to our school community. Keep up the brilliant work.

School Photographs
Individual school photographs have been taken today. Once we receive the proofs from Wrates, these will be sent home so that you can view and order any photographs you would like directly from Wrates.

Halloween Costume Donations
If you still have any unwanted Halloween costumes that your children have outgrown, please feel free to bring them into school this afternoon. I will pass these on to FOBPSA, who will be making them available to families after school on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th October, in return for a donation. Thank you to everyone who has already donated!

Autumn Weather Reminder
As the weather is beginning to feel a little more autumnal, please could we ask that all children bring a suitable coat to school each day and wear appropriate footwear. Our school field is starting to become a little wet and muddy, and we want the children to continue enjoying their outdoor playtimes as much as possible.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It really is appreciated.

Wishing all of our children and families a lovely weekend.

Friday 2nd October

Another Great Week!

We have had another great week in school, with lots of fantastic learning and activities taking place across all of our classes. The children have also been making the most of the lovely sunshine at lunchtimes, working together and using the outdoor equipment to complete some great teamwork challenges with Mr Cotton.

There has been plenty happening in classrooms too!

Class 2 have been tasting a range of different foods as part of their Science learning, carefully following the appropriate guidelines.

Class 3 have been developing their observational skills by sketching a range of different plants.

Class 4 have been getting creative, using their portraits to produce a range of different images.
Class 1 have been busy investigating and exploring their outdoor area and making the most of their learning environment.

School Photographs – Friday 9th October
A reminder that Wrates will be in school next Friday, 9th October, to take individual school photographs. If Friday is your child's usual PE day, please send their PE kit in a bag and ensure they come to school wearing full school uniform for their photograph.

Finally, a big thank you for your support today in sending children to school with packed lunches. We really appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Hopefully, we will be back to normal on Monday.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Wishing all of our children and families a fabulous weekend!

Macmillan Coffee Morning – £270 Raised
A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan Coffee Morning today. We are delighted to announce that together we have raised an amazing £270 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Thank you to everyone who donated cakes, buns and raffle prizes, came along for a cuppa, bought treats or made a donation. Your generosity and support really is appreciated, and it was wonderful to see so many members of our school community joining us this morning.

The money raised will help Macmillan provide vital practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their families.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our school and the causes we support. We hope everyone has a fabulous and restful weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all again on Monday.

Friday 11th September

What a lovely first week back.

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school this week. The children have settled in brilliantly and it has been lovely seeing them reconnect with friends, get to know their new routines and begin another exciting year of learning.

A particularly warm welcome to our new Nursery and Foundation Stage children who are beginning their school journey with us, and to our Year 6 children as they start their final year at Burton Pidsea Primary School – we hope it will be a very special one.💙

We have lots to look forward to this year, with trips, performances, special events and plenty of opportunities to make memories along the way.

A couple of dates for your diary:
Friday 18th September – Jeans for Genes Day – children are invited to wear jeans/denim for a small monetary donation to support families affected by genetic conditions.

Friday 25th September, 9:30–11:00am – Macmillan Coffee Morning in the school hall. Everyone is welcome and donations of cakes and buns would be very gratefully received.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are looking forward to a fantastic year together.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. 😊
