School Vision

At Burton Pidsea Primary School, our vision is to give every child Firm Foundations for a Successful Future.

We encourage the children to be the change they want to see:

  • in their own lives
  • in their own community
  • as a global citizen

School Aims

At Burton Pidsea Primary School, we are committed to providing a wide range of high quality learning experiences to enrich, challenge and stimulate the children. Our children’s emotional and physical wellbeing are acknowledged and are equally as important as their academic development.

We aim to develop a lifelong love of learning, embedding the skills and knowledge our children need to be successful now and in the future and to be emotionally equipped to be an effective member of their community and access the opportunities open to them in the wider world.

Every child is given the opportunity to succeed. Through ‘learning to learn’ they will develop the confidence to tackle any challenges they may face and understand that mistakes are a valuable part of learning.

The quality and commitment of all our staff, supported by the governors and by the partnership with parents and the wider community ensure all our children access a high quality holistic education where they feel safe, have a voice and know how it feels to succeed.

What does it mean to be a Burton Pidsea child?

At Burton Pidsea Primary School, we empower children to be the change they want to see in their own lives, in their own community and as a global citizen.

Lifelong  Learning

At Burton Pidsea Primary School, we build on what our children bring. We follow the National Curriculum to ensure all our children have a broad and balanced academic education, which is engaging, meaningful and enjoyable.

We also have an enhanced curriculum, informed by all stakeholders in our school community including pupils, parents and governors, which meets the needs of our unique children in our unique setting. This gives our children the opportunities to experience life as part of a village community but also recognise the opportunities beyond Burton Pidsea.

Embedding Values for life

At Burton Pidsea Primary School, key values for life are threaded through everything we do. These values are taught both explicitly and implicitly and the children are encouraged to be resilient, responsible and respectful and always consider the needs of others as well as themselves.

Building Positive Relationships

At Burton Pidsea Primary School, we are proud to be recognised as a school which feels like one big happy family (OFSTED 2021).

We recognise the importance of modelling and building positive relationships across the whole school so all the children feel safe and know all the adults care about them. We also recognise parents as partners and include them in their children's learning opportunities as often as possible.

Heart of the Community

Burton Pidsea Primary School is at the heart of the village. We believe it is important for children to recognise the part they play within their community and demonstrate the respect and responsibility that comes with that.
